introduction

Japan's most popular character, 'HELLO KITTY' celebrated her 30th anniversary in November 1, 2004 since her birth in 1974. In honor of this anniversary,
we have planned a special art exhibition, called
"KITTY EX.." KITTY EX is presenting artworks produced by more than 100 groups of domestic and international artists and designers of fashion brands using 'Hello Kitty' motif.

Our main concept for the show is to exhibit collaborated artworks created by very talented artists who play active part in different fields such as painting, graphic design, photography, music and more, to recreate fresh and new works that best expresses their creativity. We also asked many famous fashion brands including Nike HTM, Loree Rodkin, and so forth, to participate and collaborate with us to create exclusive 'HELLO KITTY' products in order to spread this celebration all over Japan.

KITTY EX. art exhibition and event started from Tokyo at the Mori museum in Roppongi Hills and Laforet museums Harajuku in July 2004. It has been very successful and is now touring around major cities in Japan, such as Kobe, Osaka, Sapporo, Nagoya and more. This project is still ongoing as a traveling exhibit at many museums in Japan until 2009.

- "KITTY EX" is an abbreviation of Hello Kitty Exhibition.
